Meet the therapist

Minds Matter because our health and happiness begin in the mind. I have been interested
in mental health and healing as long as I can remember. I am fascinated by all the ways people heal. Born with a curious nature, I listen closely, recognize strengths, and work to understand people on a deeper level. In my teens, some people close to me endured tremendously difficult times. I was eager to help but not sure how. I noticed that sometimes people receive professional help without getting better. Looking back now it seems like an important missing aspect was connection. This experience inspired me to become a therapist and to find the most effective ways to help people get results.

In my personal and clinical research, I have observed just how essential the therapeutic relationship and connection are in order to support individual transformation and healing. I enjoy working with people of all ages and diverse experiences. I see people as whole and capable within the context of their lives which allows for deeper understanding and positive outcomes. It is my hope that you will find me an ideal therapist to support your personal journey. Free Consultations and Discounted Intake Sessions are some of the efforts I make to aid your process of finding the right therapist for you.

Trained in behavioral therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as talk based therapies, my clinical practice has focused on practical, research based solutions to bring about long-term change. As a psychotherapist, I have over 8 years of experience providing evidence-based therapies for a variety of presenting concerns. I specialize in individual and couples therapy, and I approach therapy from a strengths-based, client-centered orientation. Most importantly, I am committed to providing a warm, collaborative, and empathetic environment where you can achieve your goals and the life you want to be living.

I’m a forever student. I work wholeheartedly to establish a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship that has a positive impact on my client’s lives. I am currently accepting new tele-therapy clients. If you're struggling with relationship conflicts and/or mental health symptoms like anxiety or depression, I might be a good fit for you!

On a more personal note, I love to spend time with my girlfriend, draw, read, binge shows, play all sorts of video and board games with friends/family, rock climb, and play with my cat.

Getting a better feel.

This is a brief introduction from me and an open invitation to reach out if you think I might be a good fit.

How it works

Therapy works best when it is consistent and reliable. Sessions will be held at the same time on a weekly basis, unless otherwise agreed upon between you and your therapist due to clinical or financial need.

1. Feel it out

Prior to starting therapy, you may complete a brief consultation with your therapist to ask any questions, discuss scheduling preferences, and to ensure that you and Minds That Matter are a good fit. Some who are eager to start therapy may request an email consultation.

2. Get started

Once your intake documents are complete, you’ll begin therapy on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I understand that life is unpredictable and cancellations happen. I will try my best to reschedule within the week, but no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of an appointment will be charged at a flat fee of $60.

3. Commit

Therapy is often a long-term commitment. You and I will regularly work together as a team towards reaching specific goals, evaluating progress, and reassessing needs.
